3M Company (originally the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company) is an American multinational conglomerate operating across industry, worker safety, and consumer goods. It trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker MMM and is a component of both the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500.

Founded on June 13, 1902, in Two Harbors, Minnesota, the company was known as the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company from 1902 to 2002. It is now headquartered in Maplewood, a suburb of Saint Paul, Minnesota, and led by chairman and CEO William M. Brown.

3M is known for an exceptionally diversified product portfolio of over 60,000 products, including adhesives, abrasives, laminates, passive fire protection, personal protective equipment, window films, paint protection film, and electrical and electronic connecting and insulating materials. Its consumer brands include household names such as Post-it notes and Scotch tape.
