The company captures refrigerant gas for future re-use or safe destruction, preventing its harmful release into the atmosphere.

Founded in the UK in 1993 and headquartered in Bristol, England, A-Gas has grown worldwide across 15 countries and 5 continents. For nearly 30 years it has recovered, reclaimed, and repurposed refrigerant gases, and it operates a global Rapid Recovery network alongside on-site recovery offerings that let customers recover refrigerant at their own locations. The company is also a market leader in fire protection and carbon credits.

A-Gas centers its business on the circular economy for refrigerants, with a stated purpose of protecting and enhancing the environment through effective lifecycle management. It has committed to becoming a net-zero company by 2035, reflected in its "Together, We Can" positioning.

A-Gas continues to expand through acquisition. In late March 2025 it acquired Refrigerant Services Inc. (RSI), a recognised brand in the Canadian refrigerant industry, and maintains a Canadian office in Stoney Creek, Ontario.
