Acoustiguide

Pioneering provider of audio and multimedia guides for museums and cultural attractions.

Wikipedia — Acoustiguide

Acoustiguide is one of the foundational providers of audio and multimedia guides for cultural and visitor attractions, including museums, art galleries, heritage sites, and other public displays. The company positions itself as a first-in-class provider of interpretive services for audio tours and audio guides, claiming to have practically invented the audio guide.

Founded in 1957, Acoustiguide merged with the Israeli company Espro Information Technologies in 2005. After Espro suffered financial difficulties, Acoustiguide was sold to the French company Orpheo in 2025. The Espro Acoustiguide Group expanded over time through acquisitions, including Tristan Interactive, an Ottawa, Canada-based design and technology company acquired in 2013 and now operating as Acoustiguide Interactive. Its international headquarters has been based in Kfar Saba, Israel.

Acoustiguide develops and manufactures handheld interpretive devices and produces multilingual audio and multimedia content, alongside mobile apps and web-based experiences. Its hardware lineup includes the Opus platform, a multimedia player that can hold more than 500 hours of multilingual audio, video, and images. Acoustiguide Interactive (formerly Tristan Interactive) specializes in interactive interpretive experiences for museums, art galleries, parks, and cities.

The company has served many of the world's leading cultural institutions. For example, it equips The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York with an inventory of 1,000 Opus+ units shared across The Met Fifth Avenue and The Met Cloisters. As a long-standing innovator in interpretive technology, innovation in this space is central to its core offering.
