American Society of Nephrology – Official Website

Founded in 1966, the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) is the world's largest professional society dedicated to kidney disease, headquartered in Washington, D.C. as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. ASN's mission encompasses educating health professionals and scientists, advancing research and innovation, communicating new knowledge, and advocating for the highest quality care for patients worldwide.

ASN has a membership of over 20,000 physicians and scientists, and hosts an annual meeting called Kidney Week, which draws approximately 13,000 participants. The organization publishes three peer-reviewed journals—JASN, CJASN, and Kidney360—and provides members access to more than 10,000 scientific articles, 1,500+ hours of continuing education, and 100+ self-assessment programs.

Each year, ASN and the ASN Foundation for Kidney Research provide nearly 400 research and travel grants. Strategic priorities include promoting early intervention, developing global health partnerships, and accelerating innovation through its KidneyCure initiative.

As an organization at the forefront of nephrology research and clinical practice, ASN is highly relevant to innovations in kidney disease diagnostics, therapeutics, care delivery, and health policy—making it a key stakeholder for any advancement in the renal health space.
