Ansys, Inc. is an American engineering software company based in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, specializing in CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) and multiphysics simulation software for product design, testing, and operation. Founded in 1970 by John Swanson, the company serves customers worldwide across diverse industries including aerospace, automotive, electronics, healthcare, energy, construction, and consumer products.

Ansys's software enables engineers to virtually test products before they are built. Its platforms predict product performance under real-world conditions, covering structural mechanics, fluid dynamics, electromagnetics, thermal analysis, and multiphysics simulations. Through the 2000s, Ansys expanded from a structural-analysis specialist into a broad multi-physics simulation provider via acquisitions including CFX (2003), Fluent (2006), Ansoft (2008), and Apache Design Solutions (2011).

On July 17, 2025, Synopsys completed its acquisition of Ansys (announced January 16, 2024), with Ansys surviving the merger as a wholly owned subsidiary of Synopsys, combining leaders in silicon design, IP, and simulation.
