COMPASS Pathfinder

COMPASS Pathways (originally incorporated as COMPASS Pathfinder Holdings Limited in England and Wales in June 2017) is a London-headquartered biotechnology company focused on developing psychedelic medicines for serious mental health conditions. It reorganised into COMPASS Pathways plc in August 2020 and became the first psychedelic medicine company listed on NASDAQ (ticker: CMPS). Backed by investors including Peter Thiel and Christian Angermayer, the company employs approximately 156 people across offices in London and New York, and is regarded as the largest company in the psychedelic medicine industry.

The company's lead programme centres on COMP360, an investigational synthetic psilocybin treatment targeting treatment-resistant depression (TRD). COMP360 holds FDA Breakthrough Therapy designation and UK ILAP designation. It is the first classic psychedelic to complete Phase 3 clinical trials, with both pivotal studies (COMP005 and COMP006) demonstrating highly statistically significant and clinically meaningful reductions in depression severity on the MADRS scale, with a generally well-tolerated safety profile.

Compass Pathways has requested an FDA meeting and anticipates submitting a New Drug Application in Q4, positioning COMP360 as a potential first-in-class treatment. The company is led by CEO Kabir Nath, a veteran of approximately 30 years in biopharmaceuticals, previously Senior Managing Director of global pharmaceuticals at Otsuka Pharmaceutical. Innovations in psychedelic-assisted therapy and regulatory approval pathways are directly central to its commercial and scientific mission.
