The company went public on the NYSE (ticker: COUR) in March 2021, raising approximately $519 million at a ~$4.3 billion valuation. In 2024, revenue grew 9% year-over-year to $695 million.
Coursera's 2024 strategic focus included launching new entry-level Professional Certificates, generative AI courses, and healthcare micro-credentials. In December 2024, Greg Hart — formerly a 23-year Technical Advisor to Jeff Bezos and leader of Amazon Alexa/Echo — took over as CEO. As a large-scale digital education platform, Coursera is directly relevant to innovations in online credentialing, AI-driven learning, and workforce development.
