Dental Monitoring (DentalMonitoring SAS)

DentalMonitoring (DentalMonitoring SAS) is a French HealthTech company based in Paris, founded in 2014 by Philippe Salah, Emmanuel Salah and Armelle Coquart. It develops an AI-powered software-as-a-medical-device platform that lets patients scan their teeth with a smartphone while clinicians review progress through AI-assisted analysis. CEO Philippe Salah holds an MS in Bioinformatics and a PhD in Biophysics from École Polytechnique and previously co-founded Harmony, later acquired by American Orthodontics.

The company became the first to offer a remote monitoring solution for orthodontic treatments, with a platform protected by over 80 patents. Its products include the DM ScanBox device and DM App for high-quality intra-oral imaging at home, along with DM Insights, ScanAssist and DentalMonitoring+. The software uses image processing algorithms to analyze the oral cavity, is indicated for patients over age 6, and reports results on permanent teeth.

DentalMonitoring received De Novo approval from the U.S. FDA, describing itself as the first AI/machine learning-enabled software as a medical device in dentistry. The approval was supported by a clinical study of over 2,650 patients across 29 North American sites, yielding more than 13,000 clinical results.

The company has grown to an international team of more than 400 people across Europe, the USA, Australia and Hong Kong, and has served over 2 million patients. It reached operational profitability in 2025 and raised €84 million ($100 million) from investors including Lazard Elaia Capital and ISALT, to expand in core markets (Europe, US, Australia, Japan) and into Brazil, Turkey, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. As an AI-driven medical-device platform, innovation in remote monitoring and AI is central to its business.
