Geotechnical testing, monitoring, and consulting firm specializing in civil engineering risk management.

Geocomp - About

Geocomp is a civil engineering company specializing in geotechnical testing, products, and services designed for risk management in civil engineering and geostructural applications. The firm offers geotechnical and geostructural consulting, monitoring, and laboratory testing across sectors including transportation, energy, buildings, and mining. Its core mission is to provide civil engineering and geostructural services and products for risk management in the design, construction, and operation of infrastructure.

Founded more than 40 years ago by Dr. Allen Marr, Geocomp later named Sean O'Brien as its president. In May 2022, CGG announced that Sercel, its Sensing & Monitoring division, acquired Geocomp Corporation. For Sercel, the acquisition provided access to the US infrastructure market and accelerated deployment of its S-lynks and S-scan infrastructure monitoring solutions. The partnership enabled Geocomp to combine its geotechnical testing, consulting, and monitoring expertise with Sercel's product and sensing innovations as well as Viridien's international reach and data science / remote sensing capabilities.

With over 120 employees nationwide, Geocomp serves clients across the United States and globally on infrastructure including tunnels, bridges, deep excavations, offshore structures, and dams. Its subsidiary, GeoTesting Express Inc. (GTX), provides testing facilities measuring the mechanical and physical properties of soil, rock, geosynthetics, concrete, and other geo-materials, along with field testing services.

Geocomp's headquarters is located at 125 Nagog Park, Acton, MA 01720, US. Innovations in performance monitoring technologies, sensing, and data science are directly relevant given the company's combination of geotechnical expertise with the latest monitoring technologies to deliver geostructural risk-management solutions.
