Glean

The Work AI platform that connects enterprise data to deliver trusted answers and automate work.

Glean — About

Glean (legally Glean Technologies, Inc.) is an enterprise AI software company that builds a "Work AI" platform. It connects and understands all of an organization's data to generate trusted answers and automate work grounded in company knowledge, using search and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) technology to surface relevant, up-to-date information. Its answers are designed to be secure, private, permissions-aware, and referenceable back to source documentation.

The platform lets users build multi-step prompts and custom generative AI apps, agents, and assistants that automate everyday workflows, with over 100 connectors and a choice of LLMs and no need for costly professional services, data training, or manual fine-tuning. Glean Assistant gives employees an enterprise AI assistant connected to company data via Glean's Enterprise Graph, while Glean Agents lets users create, use, and manage AI agents using natural language with governance, security, and referenceability built in.

Glean was founded in 2019 by Arvind Jain (CEO), T.R. Vishwanath, Tony Gentilcore, and Piyush Prahladka, and is headquartered in Palo Alto, California. Jain previously spent over a decade as a distinguished engineer on Google's search team and co-founded Rubrik, a cloud-data-management company that went public in 2024. The company began as an AI-powered enterprise search tool before expanding into a broader AI assistant and Work AI platform.

Glean is among the largest and fastest-growing pure-play enterprise AI companies, with more than 1,000 employees and customers across over 27 countries. It serves more than 700 enterprise customers — including Reddit, Pinterest, Confluent, and Workday — connecting knowledge across 100+ popular enterprise SaaS applications and having indexed more than 27 billion documents since inception. It has raised about $765.3 million in total funding, including a $150M Series F at a $7.2 billion valuation to accelerate enterprise AI agent innovation. As an AI-native platform built around agents and automation, innovations in this space are directly central to Glean's product strategy.
