Nestlé Health Science – About

Nestlé Health Science (NHSc) is a business unit of the Nestlé Group, founded in 2011 and headquartered in Vevey, Switzerland. The company is focused on redefining health management through nutritional science, operating across three business units: Active and Medical Nutrition; Vitamins, Minerals, and Herbal Supplements; and Pharmaceutical Therapies.

NHSc operates at significant global scale, with products available in more than 140 countries and a workforce of approximately 11,000 employees. Its brand portfolio includes well-known names such as BOOST, Garden of Life, Pure Encapsulations, Nature's Bounty, Solgar, Orgain, Vital Proteins, Nuun, and Carnation Breakfast Essentials, many of which were acquired through strategic M&A including the $2.3 billion purchase of Atrium Innovations in 2017/2018 and the acquisition of brands from The Bountiful Company.

In 2025, Nestlé announced plans to integrate its Nutrition division and NHSc into a single combined business to strengthen category leadership and capture synergies. The company is also refining its supplement portfolio, signaling a focus on premium global brands such as Garden of Life, Pure Encapsulations, and Solgar, while potentially divesting some other supplement assets.

As a major player in nutritional science and consumer health, NHSc sits at the intersection of food, wellness, and medical nutrition—making it a relevant stakeholder for innovations in personalized nutrition, therapeutic supplements, and health management solutions.
