Professional Novelists

Novelists, Inc. (NINC) is a nonprofit professional organization founded in 1989 to support career novelists through professional development, networking, education, and advocacy. With over 1,000 members globally, it serves multi-published authors across traditional, indie, and hybrid publishing paths.

Membership is merit-based and open to novelists who can demonstrate earnings of at least $3,000 on each of two qualifying works within any consecutive 12-month period. All members stand on equal footing regardless of how many novels they have published.

NINC hosts an annual conference that brings together career authors and industry professionals for networking and high-level professional development; events sell out quickly due to a deliberate effort to keep the atmosphere intimate. Members also receive a monthly magazine, Nink, covering business topics relevant to working novelists, along with discounts on select professional services.

Innovations in publishing technology, rights management, AI-assisted writing tools, or author-business platforms are directly relevant to this community, as NINC members are entrepreneurially minded career writers who actively engage with the business side of fiction writing.
