Robert Bosch

Robert Bosch GmbH, commonly known as Bosch, is a German multinational engineering and technology company founded by Robert Bosch in Stuttgart in 1886 as the Werkstätte für Feinmechanik (workshop for precision mechanics). It is a privately held conglomerate headquartered at Robert-Bosch-Platz 1, Gerlingen, Baden-Württemberg, and serves customers worldwide. The company is 94% owned by the charitable Robert Bosch Stiftung (which holds no voting rights), with the Bosch family holding 5%, and is led by Stefan Hartung as CEO, CTO, and CDO.

Bosch positions itself as a leading global supplier of technology and services. It employs roughly 413,000 associates worldwide (as of December 31, 2025), generated sales of 91 billion euros in 2025, and divides its operations into four business sectors: Mobility, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology. Its product range spans automotive parts, power tools, security systems, home appliances, engineering, electronics, cloud computing, and IoT. The Mobility sector is by far the largest, with sales revenue of 55.9 billion euros in 2024.
