Roivant Sciences
Nasdaq-listed biopharmaceutical company that accelerates drug development through nimble therapeutic-area subsidiaries called 'Vants'
Roivant Sciences – About the Company (official site)Roivant Sciences (Nasdaq: ROIV) is a biopharmaceutical company founded in 2014 by Vivek Ramaswamy, headquartered in New York City with major offices in Boston and Basel, Switzerland. Its core model involves creating focused subsidiaries—called 'Vants'—to develop and commercialize medicines across distinct therapeutic areas, a structure that has grown to encompass over a dozen subsidiaries ranging from majority-owned public companies to privately held commercial-stage entities.
The company completed its IPO on the Nasdaq Global Select Market in October 2021, raising approximately $1.35 billion at a valuation of roughly $6.7 billion. Prior to the IPO, Roivant divested five Vant subsidiaries to Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma for approximately $3 billion. Matt Gline succeeded founder Vivek Ramaswamy as CEO in 2021, after which Roivant refocused its strategy on immunology and inflammation.
Roivant's current pipeline includes brepocitinib (a TYK2/JAK1 inhibitor with a Phase 3 win in dermatomyositis and an NDA planned for H1 2026), FcRn-targeting antibodies IMVT-1402 and batoclimab for IgG-mediated autoimmune diseases, and mosliciguat for pulmonary hypertension. The company holds approximately $4.4 billion in cash and marketable securities and reports that its Vants have completed 12 positive Phase 3 trials since 2019.
Beyond therapeutics, Roivant built Datavant—a healthcare data-sharing platform later merged with Ciox into a $7 billion company—reflecting the broader technology and data capabilities housed within its Roivant Health business unit. Innovations in drug discovery, clinical data infrastructure, or immunology are directly relevant to Roivant's active pipeline and platform strategy.
