School Counselors

School counselors are professionals working in elementary, middle, and high schools. They provide individual and group counseling, college and career planning, and implement school-wide developmental programs.

In the United States, the profession is supported by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), which has approximately 43,000 members and establishes professional standards and ethical guidelines. Internationally, the International School Counselor Association (ISCA) serves those working in international schools.
