Economically, Singapore is classified as a high-income economy with a 2024 GDP of $547.39 billion USD. It is recognized for high rankings on the Corruption Perceptions Index and the Human Development Index.

Innovation in digital governance is central to the state's strategy, evidenced by the Smart Nation vision launched in 2014 and the subsequent Smart Nation 2.0 in 2024. The Government Technology Agency (GovTech) leads these efforts, focusing on digital transformation and the creation of user-friendly products to streamline public services for citizens and businesses.
