University Hospital Münster

University Hospital Münster (Universitätsklinikum Münster, UKM) is a public university hospital in Münster, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is regarded as one of the most successful maximum-care providers ("Maximalversorger") in the German hospital landscape and works closely with the Medical Faculty of the University of Münster.

UKM operates around 1,500 beds across more than 30 clinics, alongside numerous institutes and centres. With roughly 11,000–11,500 employees, the UKM Group is one of the largest employers and training providers in its region, with the nursing area (more than 2,000 staff) and the medical-technical service (almost 1,800 staff) among its biggest professional groups. Each year it treats more than 50,000 inpatients and handles almost half a million outpatient contacts.

The hospital is the clinical arm associated with the University of Münster's Medical Faculty, which traces its roots to 1780 as one of the university's founding faculties and was reopened in its modern form in 1925. UKM positions itself around the integration of cutting-edge research, clinical teaching, and modern diagnostics and therapy.
