SkewGuard: Provably-Balanced Rectangle Partitioner for Distributed Analytics

A drop-in module that splits a skewed 2D data-density grid (e.g., geospatial record counts) into at most p rectangles whose heaviest tile is guaranteed within 2.5x of the best possible partition, computed in near-linear time — so parallel jobs stop losing wall-clock time to straggler workers.
